Pregrada Municipal Museum
Welcome to the official website of the Pregrada City Museum.
Various cultural events take place in the Museum throughout the year, such as occasional exhibitions in our gallery space on the ground floor of the building, children's programs for our youngest, workshops for students and young people, meetings and conversations for people of third age and the like. Guided by the permanent exhibition of the Museum is carried out in Croatian, English and Slovenian.
About the Museum
The permanent exhibition of the Museum consisting of the Numismatic and Mining Collections was opened on 22 November 2007, and the exhibition of the Pharmacy Collection on 6 April 2008. In total, there are 639 items in the permanent exhibition of all collections. The design and art design of the Museum was signed by Nikolina Jelavić-Mitrović, and the exhibition was made by Iva Validžija, former curator and acting director of the Museum with associates (dr. sc. Ivan Mirnik, Boris Prister, Sanja Japundžić and prof. dr. sc. Vladimir Grdinić) according to the museological concept of Visnja Zgage.
Numismatics
The numismatic collection was created by Zlatko Dragutin Tudjina for many years and contains plaster casts, enlarged matrices, matrices for making gold coins and silver coins with motifs of six culturally and historically deserving Croats (Kralj Tomislav, Alojzije Stepinac, Stjepan Radić, Marko Marulić, Juraj Šeper, Nikola Tavelić) as well as forged silver coins with these motifs.
Mining and Geology
The mining collection was created by collecting donors Zlatko Dragutin Tudjina whose family owned the mine until 1945. Along with photographs of mines and mining objects, the exhibition also presents the short geological past of Pregrada and its surroundings.
Pharmacy
The Thierry Pharmacy Collection represents the business of the Thierry family, which founded the first pharmaceutical company in Southeast Europe. Pharmacist Adolf pl. On 9 November 1892 Thierry de Chateauvieux obtained a concession document number 52 906, i.e. a licence to operate a pharmacy in Pregrada.
